Lydia purple

Have just recently been illustrating Lydia.

I've tried to make the purple as accurate as possible, while still being 'purple'. Do you think I've got the balance right? Does this look like purple to you?

  1. It varies according to what screen I view it on but I would consider it to be reasonably purple - not typical purple but within the bounds of interpretation. Whether what I see it as is of any use...

  2. I think your seeing of purple should be OK.
I'm just thinking, though - would they sell cloth in huge bolts like that, or individual clothes-sized pieces?

  3. I see it as purple, definitely. Don't know about the size of cloth pieces, though.

  4. Good!
Maybe should test it out on some kids as well.

I think cloth was usually woven the right size for the clothes (which were made of rectangles - even her puff-sleeved dress is a rectangle with no cutting!).

But I just automatically drew it in rolls because that's how it's sold now. And I boast about my committment to historical accuracy... :-)

  5. Why do you do an alternate version that has the cloth in rectangles, rather than rolls?

  6. I will do, when I come to getting it ready to sell.
